Plant-derived ceramides
Ceramides are lipids that sit in the skin barrier — part of what keeps water from getting out. Ours are plant-derived, and they appear on the list below as glycosphingolipids and glycolipids rather than as "ceramide."
Cocoa + shea butter
Cocoa butter is the second ingredient, shea the eleventh, both from organic farming. With the plant oils, they're what makes this deeply moisturizing — and what makes it rich.

QUESTIONS
Is it heavy? Will it transfer to my pillow?
It's a rich formula — cocoa butter is the second ingredient, shea the eleventh. That's what makes it deeply moisturizing, and it's why it's a night cream rather than a day one. Press it in rather than rubbing, and give it a moment before you lie down.
Will it pill over my serum?
Not if the serum has dried down first. Pilling happens when a rich cream goes over a layer that's still wet — the product underneath has nowhere to go. Cleanse, apply your serum, let it settle, then the cream.
What makes it a night cream? Can I use it in the morning?
It's a richer formula than a day cream, and that texture is made for the hours you're not going anywhere. We'd keep it to nights and use the Daily Recovery Cream in the morning.
I have oily or combination skin — is this for me?
This one is made for normal and dry skin. If your skin runs oily, it will probably feel heavier than you want. The Daily Recovery Cream is the lighter one.
Why doesn't the ingredient list say "ceramide"?
Because ceramides aren't a single ingredient. Ours are plant-derived and appear under their own INCI names — glycosphingolipids and glycolipids. Both are on the full list further up this page.
It's scented. Is that a problem for sensitive skin?
The scent comes from essential oils in the formula rather than a synthetic fragrance, and it contains linalool and limonene, both declared on the label. If your skin reacts to scented products, patch test on your inner arm first and give it 24 hours.
Does it need to be refrigerated?
No. Somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight. It's a butter-based cream, so it will soften in a warm room and firm up in a cold one — that's the formula behaving normally, not a fault.
Is it vegan? Does it contain gluten or nuts?
